The foam used is probably Tempur (originally developed for the space programme and now used for mattresses and pillows) or a copycat.
It is very cool stuff if you have a bad back.
You can pick up similar pillows cheaply and tat may well be a good option.
I have some of these around and thought of it, but don't weant a pillow in the system...
By the way, if it is Tempur, $50 is not a lot for a pillow.
