Thanks again so much Al, my system sounds a whole lot better due to some of your recommendations. The more I listen the more improvement I hear. I always felt that I was "more immune" to these things living out in the boonies where no TV signal can be picked up, there is no cable TV, no cell service and the closest radio station is almost 20 miles away. I forgot to factor in that my speaker wire is an antenna!


I've been fooling with antennas and will be setting up my first transmitter in less than a month after I get my ham license. I've made several antennas already for listening and have learned the differences each can make. I'll be building an 80 meter inverted V dipole for my station with balanced ladder line and a Johnson Matchbox. When funds are better I'll make nicer quality "speaker filters" with three values and do more testing with different R values.
