The cores and molding compounds are poor materials for use in revealing audio circuits.
I've used JW Miller high current 10-microhenry RF chokes in series with my Magnepan MG-20 ribbons to cut the level of RF noise picked up by the ribbons acting as an antennas. The type 5522 is good, but no longer available except by special order. The toroidal type 5701 should be just as good, and they can be purchased in small quantities from Mouser, etc.
