Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I am asking for your help because I am not technical enough for a proprer judgement on DIY cables.
I read with extreme interest TNT-Audio article on UBYTE-2 speaker cable (http://www.tnt-audio.com/clinica/ubyte2e.html).
Given my planar speakers - a pair of Magnepan MC1 and a pair of MMGW - I would like to make long distance speaker cables (about 30 Ft) using only coax cables with a solid Copper central (without the multiple twist "braid" made with wirewrap of the above article, something similar to the Anti-Cable www.anticables.com). Am I mistaken?
Apart from the cable suggested in the above article (XS17T at Maplin, http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=275), could I use Triax TX100 (http://www.triax.co.uk/upload/cable_002.pdf, at page 3) which it seems to me it has similar specs?
Furthermore, rather than starting from a single coax cable, could I directly use the twin coax cable by Maplin (http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=219139) which it seems to me it has similar specs to the previous one?
I thank you in advance for your attention and help.
