Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I've tried some tweaks in the past and they made no audible improvement. Now if you want to call de-coupling your turntable with a high mass base or shelf a tweak, I can get behind that because I've done it and it makes a clear audible improvement. The physics of the tweak can be explained. But don't try to tell me silver wires cables or metal dome tweeters sound inherently "bright" when there could easily be mechanisms such as excessive capacitance or resistance, or a poorly designed crossover that is more likely the cause of the problem. Don't try to bullshit me by saying you could cure the problems of my system over the phone or with the presence of a battery-powered clock in the room. I'm afraid I'm just not that gullible.
