I contacted John at Ohm Speakers with my concern over the 22W resistor and he said the same thing you did ... and I quote, "I suspect we temporairly ran out of 7 watt and used 22 in their place. It seems unlikly that there would be an effect".
I did find that Ohmite makes higher wattage resistors for audio applications (their Audio Gold line which comes in 25 and 50W versions) but I have not been able to source them. If I cannot get a higher watt resistor I will substitute with 10W resistors and just keep my eye on them. My goal is to get these speakers back together within a couple of weeks.
As a side note, aluminum cased, higher wattage resistors seem to be readily available, but according to Wikipedia, if you don't mount them on an aluminum heat sink (which I am not going to do), their actual power rating is reduced to about 1/10 of the rated value.
