As per Al Sekela's observations below, I've used heavy non-resonant objects on my preamp and mono amps, separating the mass-loading and the equipment with damping material, and I've been very pleased with the results. The greatest improvement came with my Nuforce mono's, which seem to be very in need of vibration-damping for best performance. Results: better imaging, more air, smoother & more detailed from top to bottom.
