Hi all,
I am considering constructing some balanced interconnects using the Furutech "Balance Interconnect 2x19 AWG Stranded PCOCC," which is the same cable in Furutech's Reference III interconnects. Although I am planning to use the same "Hi-End grade" Furutech XLR connectors as in the Reference III cables, I am not a big fan of rhodium so I plan to use the gold plated version instead. However, I have recently become aware of the new Vampire Xhadow connector which has Silver plated Copper contacts, but I am concerned with the change in tonality, or maybe even harshness, I have associated with silver compared to gold in the past. I appreciate any comments from those of you who have used the Xhadow, or who have used this Furutech wire for IC projects. Thanks.
