In Reply to: Open Question: Is it similar to the Quantum QRT - or even the same? posted by Djhymn on March 8, 2008 at 22:17:08:
I have a Quantum unit, and I thought the same thing. But a friend of mine in the industry said that they clearly do different things. I honestly don’t remember the details of what he said, so I unfortunately can’t be of much help there. But I did a little experiment yesterday. With the RR-77 in place and on, I turned off my Quantum. I could hear some degradation of the sound, mainly in terms of overall smoothness and naturalness. I then turned the Quantum back on, and voila, the sound returned back to where I was used to hearing it. Not a huge difference, mind you—not even close, in fact—but audible to my ears. FWIW.
