The 2-prong power cord is not illegel design, they are using double-insulated components and insulation design to get away with 2-prong power cord, so the audio circuit ground is tied to the chassis which helps reduce the ground loop current problem sine there is no ground on the power plug. Are you hearing the mechanical hum or humming through the speaker or both?
