Take a portable AM radio and tune it to a relatively quiet spot between stations.
Hold it near the display.
Switch the display on and off.
Listen for changes in the noise from the radio.
Repeat for other 'quiet' spots on the AM band.
Our LCD TV makes a buzz-saw noise on an AM radio held a few inches from the screen.
