I do the usual things...upgrade PS caps, coupling caps, some resistors, mechanical things (jacks and posts), etc. I NEVER remove coupling caps, and I now keep my soldering iron out of SS equipment. I started this affliction with an ARC SP-6B preamp in the early days of Wonder-Caps* and haven't quit yet.
* early '80s, and made a little business, Two Jeffreys Audio, of it for a half-dozen years.
