Will have a Musical Fidelity X-10 v3 tube buffer in my hot little hands in about a week. I want to replace that cheap PSU wall wart. I have seen DIY clones for the older X-PSU, but not for the X-PSU v3. I have two options, purchase a new (cannot find one used) X-PSU v3 ($450+) or build a clone or similar unit. I am hoping I can build a clone that will support/power three of these X-10 v3 units.
From what I can gather, these X-PSU v3 are really simple units and should be easy to DIY. Since I have not seen the inside of one of these units (would make this project a ton easier), I think there is a 120V input/12VAC-20VA output toroidal transformer, a on/off breaker switch, four XLR connectors, IEC inlet and the chassis.
Anything I am missing or that is needed? Any assistance, direction or guidance here would be awesome. Thanks in advance!
Chris
