Shunt regulator .... basic emitter follower.

I tried BC550 and BC635, but my load was a bit much. My DMM provided a means to watch them gracefully go into shutdown, probably before melting. :-)
The TIP29 is followed by an LT1963A.
Vin 9vdc, Vout 7.1 380mA... close but it's working.
