Try posting your query over on the PS Audio AA site. Paul will usually answer posts himself. I've included the link.
IIRC, the fan's speed is temperature driven with the temp signal being derived from the heatsinks so if one does not tax the unit by running it at or near it's full capacity, then the fan should not be a problem.
Even then, I believe PS Audio offers an ultra quiet fan upgrade should U have an older unit.
