Efficiency is not the same as sensitivity. You can lower the impedance of the drivers and get higher sensitivity. The only way that makes sense to me is that they are using lower impedance drivers which increases the sensitivity. Also some crossover networks (usually bandpass) have excessive gain, which adds a little bit to the output also.
Some manufacturers rate their products according to their own standards, which might not agree with measurements by a reviewer or in a laboratory/anechoic chamber.
