Clayton has been speaking highly of the config using series and of course Jon Risch added some great background. Jon I think uses a series with a three way, so may look to him on your questions of series and 3ways.There was quite a bit of discussion many months ago over on the Madisound site around the ability of the LC Audio xover to work well. I recall something about the resistor in the circuit between the - tweeter and +midbass as being the issue.
BTW, you made mention of how you no longer care for the 8545, but was not certain as to what you felt was at issue? See you still like the 8542?
