Re: Treating the center - between the speakers

I have had several people tell me that the Room Lens type device can alleviate a TV in the middle by as much as many absoprtive devices can.

You place the Lens on either side of the TV, spaced away from the sides of the TV, and a little forward, so that the lens will diffract the sound as it washes over the TV, and back out into the room again.

Since we are talking about a pair (or possibly a third one in back of the TV between the rear wall and the TV set) of three 2 1/2" pipes with a minimal wooden base and top plate, the whole assembly of which can be painted the color of your choice, anything from flat black to a color to match the walls, to an off white to match the ceiling, etc., they might have a better WAF than the usual absoprtive panels.

Although, the absorptive panels can be made to look quite nice, if they use finished wood for the panel side frames, and a nice color of burlap to contrast or match the TV or walls. I have heard of one individual who dyed the polyester behind the grille cloth he used, he claimed it made the fiberglass invisible, and the polyester blended in with the grille cloth so that it looked very elegant. A set of panels to flank the TV, and a portable one to place in front of it while listening, could do the trick also.
