Re: Want recommendations for AC receptacle outlets.

mtry,

This is awfully close to a troll, even I don't believe that you are that ignorant of high end audio to realize that many have benefited from a tighter conenction at the AC wall outlet.

I have performed this simple experiment myself in the hardware store:
find a two prong plug, and go plug it into the cheapest AC outlets (usually from 60-90 cents). Now, plug it in and out a few times.

Then, find the heavy duty commercial grade outlets, the ones that cost $4-6 each, and plug the plug into these several times. Any one who is not a leper (no feeling in hands) will be able to tell that the commercial grade outlets gripped the plug tighter and much more firmly.

Now, realizing that the entire side of the plug prong does not intimately contact the entire outlet receptacle metal strip, and that higher pressure will at least maximize this contact, it is not at all unusual to find that a better connection will be made, and that this could and would have some bearing on a clean and punchy sound reproduction, as the wall outpet and AC cord plug are not as much of a resistance. This resistance may or may not include micro-arcing, localized heating, and a much higher than nominal resistance under worse than usual conditions, say a worn or abused wall outlet.

If you have nothing better to bring to the table, then don't spoil everyone else's dinner.

If you post further obvious trolls and the usual silliness about how everyone else should have DBT results to confirm this (except you), you will reap your just reward.
