Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I'm not sure where to post this but any redirection would be appreciated. I came home yesterday and as I approched my front porch, I heard what seemed to be a small car horn going off inside my house. Upon further investigation, (actually just unlocking the door and entering)it was apparent that the sound was coming from one of the powered speakers. I immediately unplugged it. The sound stopped of course. I then unplugged the input cable and then reconnected the power, again the unmistakable 115db klaxon. I assume the amplifier a)has a DC problem, b)a cold solder joint, or...some other problem. (genius ain't I!) Does anyone here know what might be happening and if this is something I could tackle myself as I have one working unit and one that shouts at me.
thanks,
Bruce
