Would this be a good equipment rack upgrade?

I currently own a Quadraspire Q4 for my integrated amp and cd player:

It's just a modular rack with 3/4" veneered mdf shelves and screw-together aluminum posts.

I'm considering a 2-tier amp stand from Timbernation:

Flat-grained maple (butcher block), mortis and tenon construction, 2" thick throughout.

Would this be an effective upgrade from my Quadraspire? I think so but it'd be a custom order and not cheap, either.
