wondering if balanced power would be the way to go?

70.101.83.70

I'm considering a DIY balanced power project based on the Jon Risch designs and need some help determining if it or just better isolation would benifit my system. I've read up on the egui=teck site and searched the archives for the base info but still a bit confused or uncertain on the better direction to go.

My system is made up of Dynaco Mk III tube amps with Curcio upgrades, Cary slp 98p tube pre-amp, LP12 with Lingo, Theta transport and MF x-dac v-3 with x-psu, a tuner and a Tascam digital recorder. Also KEF 104/2 speakers and a couple of powered subs.

I currently have 2 dedicated power lines, 1 for the amps and 1 for the front end. There is a high current PS Ultimate Outlet on each line feeding the gear. The subs are on 2 other branch circuits for now and may get their own to provide balanced power I've seen recommended for them in archives. Oxide outlets and other cords and connectors are also on the list for this project.

So I need some help deciding if balanced power will be a benifit for tube equipment and the other gear with seperate power supplies. Also not certain if all gear should be connected to balanced AC if going in that direction.

Im thinking of a small unit for the source gear and include or seperate off the pre-amp and/or larger one for the amps if appropriate or simply go with better isolation for the digital gear.

I currently dont have a specific problem to fix and am content with the overall performace of the system but always thinking of improvements. I work a lot in the summer and have time to kill during winter and AC power improvements are on this years project list.

Thanks in advance for any ideas and suggustions offered.
