RE: Sound wise, FRED or Schottky's

assuming a B+ of 350v, and a switching noise of 0.7v... just put snubber caps parallel to each diode, and another across, and series a small resistor before the smoothing, and they'd sound just about the same, IME. schottsky does have smoother curves in the scope (immediately after, and before the smoothing caps)
