This is what makes this forum useful and entertaining.
We have some that truly are involved in the spirit of passing on good information and then there are some that I am glad my only interaction with them is a keyboard and screen.
I really appreciate all the good info passed down. Thanks almost to all.
Of course I removed the second ground rod before I moved.
I did not add a second ground rod in the new house because after cleaning and tightening the connections I have a very quite system. I can turn the volume to max with preamp in phono (I have a Vendetta Research Pre-Pre)
with barely a hint of noise or hum from my speakers. One has to put there ear right next to the speaker to detect any sound. My system includes six channels of amplification (stereo biamped with two subs. Tubed preamp and tubes for the top half of the speakers. All equipment is grounded through the AC plugs. The only thing I have to float is the computer when using it to convert analogue (LP and FM broadcasts) to digital or when I am taking measurements with RTA. Some chassis are grounded to the house ground when it makes a difference.
So it goes.........
