I use the Z-der block on my transport. I can't actually explain how it works, but it does. It wasn't apparent to me until I removed it from the system for a bit while trying out a new power cable. Out of the system I noticed a lack of punch in the bass. Not that the sound was horrible, it was actually fine, but with the Z-der block in the system it seemed to make the bass come alive with a bit more authority.
