In a TMM design, one mid-bass driver is usually reproducing only the bass range, while the other mid-bass driver extends all the way up to meet the tweeter. So the impedance will be up or down depending on the frequency. Manufacturers often tend to stretch the truth when stating a particular loudspeaker is 8 ohms. Most these days are more likely to be between 5 and 7 ohms.
