I follow the "speakers in series" thread by hZ but an curious to understand how the commercial 2-way TMM designs spec at 8ohms? Are they actually building with special run 16ohm drivers for parallel wiring, adding resistance to a pair of 8ohms in parallel or simply two 4ohms in series?As a hobbiest, I see very few 16ohm or DVC mid/bass drivers but the mid-fi commercial TMM designs are dominating the showrooms. What are they doing that a hobbiest can't?
