To me, a conjugate is a specific network, designed and tuned to neutralize the fundamental resonance of a loudspeaker; it is a series network placed in aprallel with the driver. A notch filter is used to reduce an amplitude bump, and in order to prevent an imedance dip in the region of a nominal Z, it usually has to be a parallel circuit in series with the driver.
