I'm am a huge fan of the Cardas patented binding posts. They work fine with bare wire, but they work better with spades. (They clamp bare wire really well, but you need to bend it into a hook shape and it isn't as handy.) They are cheaper than the solid copper more traditional Cardas posts. They are also lower mass, which can't hurt. I love the design. They are easy to get incredibly tight, and a very elegant solution.Pomona makes a tellurium copper binding post, model 3770. They aren't as heavy duty as audio specific parts, but the price is nice in comparison. The first hit I got was $6 a piece. Last time I shopped around I found them as low as $3, but copper was much cheaper then and the odd colors were closeouts some places. Google Pomona 3770 binding post.
good luck,Paul
