The only reason I mention this is because I have done exactly what the poster wants to do to 3 different CD/DVD players.Added heavy gauge power cords, GND'd chassis thru PC's but the best results have been to bang an Oyaide P-079 on the end of the PC on my digital gear and be done with it.
Very good upgrade to stand alone CD/DVD players.
Just speaking from experience here.
