Just be aware that for a 50 Hz room mode, that purpose designed bass traps are going to be the only thing that can even begin to touch a frequency that low.If your budget is hurtuing, consider some DIY SUper QUick & Dirty bass traps, then you could afford to get enough to do some good.

where I talk about cloth covering, etc.You can make the SQ&D traps look quite decent, by covering them with some nice cloth, and/or providing a minimal frame to stretch the cloth over.
