Problem w/ARC SP16 preamp -- any suggestions?

About a month ago my Audio Research SP16 developed an intermittent problem. Upon power up, after the unit comes out of standby and I unmute it, sometimes the right channel does not come in. It usually eventually does, sometimes within a minute or so, sometimes hours later, sometimes it just plain doesn't. Some days it works fine, though, and there's no real rhyme or reason to when and why it works and doesn't. Before I bite the bullet (it's out of warranty) and send it to ARC for service, I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what I might try to fix the problem. I know that the preamp's microprocessor controlled and I believe most of the switches are sealed. I did try retubing without success, and checked all my RCA connections. Thanks in advance.
