I have been experimentig with the EVS nude and Endler attenuators. The EVS uses Vishay resistors and the Endler uses Yageo. I wouldn't classify the Vishay as dark, more appropriately smoother. The Yageo are a tad noisier, but appear to provide more on the high end (perhaps due to the noise?).I also have a K&K step-up transformer which allows me to swap resistors to adjust cartridge load. I tried Caddock and Audio Note tantalum resisitors and found the Audio Note to be smoother, but the Caddock were quite good as well, just sonically not as much to my liking at the Audio Note.
