You might be a confusing a lack of bass dynamics with bass control. The opposite of dynamic sounding bass is compressed sounding bass. I don't find Oyaide gear to sound compressed in the bass, in fact it's more open sounding than any others I've tried. Also, your ear probably needs to become accustomed to a more open sounding bass region. There should be more subtle information to be found down there now, however...A large gauge hardware store variety power cable such as a Carol when used for a DIY power cord project is problematic. I've found that; the larger the gauge a hardware store variety power cable is, the crummier it sounds. The 10 AWG Carol power cable is not audiophile quality and won't come near what a truly dynamic power cord can offer. Is the Shanling power cord a stock power cord? Again, while it may be better than the Carol, it can't be expected to be high performance. Mating such power cords with an Oyaide is bound to have issues.
