Re: Try two up and one down and vice-versa as well. (nt)

I get the feeling that you don't think the suggestion was serious.

If that is the case, then think again. Sometimes having 2 facing one way and one the other is better than having them all facing the same way. The problem is working out which is the best combination. The simplest way I can suggest is simply to find which way you prefer having all 3 pointing and then, starting with that, try flipping each cone separately and comparing results to the starting point of 3 facing the same way. You may end up back with all 3 facing the same way as your preference or you may find a 2-1 combination you like.

Cones do make a difference but there are a lot of variables involved in determining exactly what that difference is. Which end result is best is most definitely a personal preference. The direction in which the cone points is one of the variables, and there is no requirement that they all point in the same direction.

If you hang around here long enough, you'll find that you get a lot of responses like Rob's to certain sorts of questions. Don't be too quick to assume they're making fun of you because the suggestions are likely to be quite serious. The people who want to make fun of tweakers tend to adopt a very different approach.
