I know of a person that did this and it looked ugly after he was done, there was no advantage in doing this. I wouldn't recommend this after I seen those Vendersteen 3A's in a mess, it made me sad to this speaker damaged like this because I had a pair of 3A's at that time. I just couldn't understand why someone would destroy their speakers like that. Also if you ever wanted to sell them you will have a very hard time putting back if you could.
