Hello,I'm looking for something to use as a volume control between my D/A converter and my active crossover.
current signal chain is as follows:
digital transport into
Behringer DEQ2496, analog out into
Rane AC23B three-way active crossover into
2 mono and 2 stereo class-D amplifiersSo I need an attenuator in between the ANALOG output of my Behringer DEQ2496 and the Rane AC23B active crossover. The only thing I need to make this practical is a volume control. As I'm exclusively using balanced XLR conenctions, I would need a 4 gang pot to attenuate the signal. Stepped attenuators are better, but more expensive. I refuse to spend more than $100 on this (sorry DACT). The output impedance of the DEQ2496 is 100 ohms, and the input of the active crossover is 20k. If anyone has recommendations, I'd love to hear them.
If no simple solution presents itself, I'll just buy a Monarchy Audio Model 33 D/A converter/class A preamp. I love Monarchy products, but as I only listen to CD, it's unnecessary if I can find a good attenuator for a reasonable price.
thanks in advance,-Tal
