As opposed to the previous post......silver oxides and sulphides in contrast to those of most other metals are highly conductive.
I alway clean the silver wire before makeing cables, using duraglit wadding.
An oxide layer on the out side of the wire will have minimum impact on the sound, they will still be better than the equivalents made from other conductors.
