I can't comment on any technical reasons why my Grungebuster2 works--other than that it probably quells vibrational noise--but all I know is that it has yielded an across-the-board improvement on my CDs. Everything is better. I won't listen to a disc without one. And it's MUCH easier to apply than the original GB, and sonically superior too.
