Diffusors-- Absorbers-- please help

Arrggg... please help. I must admit I thougt I new what I was doing from reading and reading and reading these posts but after buying several ridgid fiberglass pannels, cutting them and buiding abosorbers/bass traps and covering with Burlap (I won this battle with the wife) I now have a room which sounds too dead. High frequencies are missing.

I have a room which is 15ft wide by 17.7 ft long Ceiling is 7.94ft.

I now have bass traps (16in)wide two inches thick from ceiling to floor in each of the four corners. I then had two other pannels behind the speakers from floor to ceiling but the sound was "dark". Once I removed the pannels from behind the speakers things brightened up again. Interestingly I put the pannels between the speakers in front of the TV/entertainment center and POP the sound stage became much improved. I am now considering moving the entertainment center but I thought it was acting as a difusor (lots of shelves with crap on them).

So, here I am to the question. Diffusors. I don't realy have any in the room- is this what I need? Should I move the entertainment center and build bookshelves or buy a commercial grade diffusor?

Should I put diffusors on the back wall and side wall as well? That's where I thought absorbers were supposed to be in the first reflection points? Or should I use a combination of both? Please advise-help would be appriciated.

Best
