I purchased a couple of cermet pots from NTE sourced from Spectrol which is now owned by Vishay.These cost me 12.10 each at a local electronic supply store.
They totally eclipsed the Alps pots, and not by any slight manner. These pots are much more neutral. Much lower noise and distortion.
If you have any friends running ALPs let them know that a low cost high quality sounding Pot is available for evaluation.
