The Grungebuster mats are made of very thin, softish material that is slightly textured on one side, shiny and sticky on the other. You put it on the CD and push out the air bubbles.I'm a happy user. They seem to do what the original poster says--how, I don't know. But I *do* know they do something: my CDR recorder developed a habit of rejecting my favorite CDR blanks, but with the mat they work fine.
So something's going on.
