Tweakers' Asylum Tweaks for systems, rooms and Do It Yourself (DIY) help. FAQ. |

I'm looking for some suggestions for tweaking my speakers against vibration / resonance. Specifically I'm curious about Deflex panels inside the speakers (rear? and/or side walls?) and the effectiveness of adding gasket material to decouple the woofer and tweater. Has anyone tried either of these and were they worthwhile? What did you use if not Deflex? And what did you use for gasket material? As far as gasket material I DON'T want an adhesive type (warranty and all that). I could use anything from foam strips (sold by Madisound) to Deflex woofer gasket material to a really tiny amount of that weather stripping stuff (too much and I will get a permanent seal, of course).I want to stop at those tweaks but I'm still itching to replace the Solens in series with the tweeters and the internal wiring (but, again, warranty and all that).
