The JMLab Micro Utopia Be is somewhat similar to yours, 2 way monitor type... there ware a couple of old VPI bricks sitting around doing nothing so I put one on top of each speaker, at the very rear of the top.... the increase in focus and definition was striking, a major upgrade in punch and juice, as if an important energy component was lost in wobbling.... (Our Motto: There's No Substitute For Mass).... now I found great stuff, specialty shot made by Hevi-Shot, it is a tungsten allow that is denser than lead and harder than steel, used as a shotgun shot replacement for lead pellets. Lead can give a dead, unfocused tinge to your sound (found that out when I tried 5 lb. lead filled shot bags.... scratched my head, WTF happened ???, sound was "quieter" sure, but weirdly muddy). Tungsten comes in 7 lb. plastic jars, you can wrap them in in cheerful wrapping paper or put decals on 'em..... or you could have On Line Metals cut you 1/4 inch (or whatever you want) brass plate to exactly fit your speaker top.... you'll be blown away by the amount of energy your speaker had been wasting that will now be redirected into the cone's motion.....
