I’ve read this site several times and still cant make good sense out of it, there is no defined logic or reason or measurements or pictures to help illustrate what is being discussed, it all seems mixed together. Can you explain in simple terms what is necessary to make a good Low Frequency panel trap? This quote above seems a bit confusing, isn’t Fiberglass Fiberglass, why use a rigid panel then 6.5 thick sheets together, why not just another rigid panel to get the extra thickness and save some space? The ridged panels like the OC 705 shows good absorption qualities on ethan’s site all by themselves. So why does a OC 705 panel not make a bass trap? I have never seen a picture of any panel trap that is 6-8†thick hanging on a wall, I can’t imagine having something sticking out that far into the room, that would never work in most typical rooms. According to your formula, none of the commercial panel traps could ever work for bass absorption, am I misunderstanding?
