Sounds like you're using your GC's to drive a pair of Oris Reference Bass cabs - or at least you're running BD-15 drivers in your cabs.If this is the case, I'm using a GC amp to drive a pair of Oris Compact Ref Bass cabs w/ BD-15 drivers from around 230Hz below with quite a bit of success.
Using the stock GC boards from BrianGT (you sighted the URL in your post), I found I needed a little gain a little more control and volume. I replaced the stock PS with the "snubberized" version, added a slightly larger toroidal xformer (330V/25+25), increasing the gain and replaced the 1500uF caps on the amp board w/ 100uF BGs.
In my case, these tweaks seem to achieve my goals. However, my listening room is on the smaller size (12' x 16' x 8.5'). In a larger room, the mods may not have as much of a noticeable effect. Best bet is to experiment a bit. The CG amps seem to be very responsive to tweaking.
Cheers,
Hat
