Hi Steve,
When used in stands, you would not want to "fill em' up" rather fill them about 1/8-1/4. This will allow the rest of the stand to resonate to a point and the Micro Bearing will transmit the energy out of the stand.
I have used this in many applications including speaker stands, inside speakers (doubled in ziplog bags) and in larger speakers that have a sub chamber for just this type of material such as the larger Usher speakers.My opinion... it works wonders but how much to use will be a mater of trial & error. For instance, in a large pair of floorstanding speakers with a bottom chamber that was 5 inches in height, I found the best results with 1/2" of Micro.
