but I never really considered the QS & D as the place to put in surge protection. But your point was extremely valid and it was foolish of me to disregard this point. The Felicia, because of its topology really can be considered a sacrificial component as the transformer's inductance will do much to mitigate any surges. But its silly to use the transformers primaries for that purpose when a MOV is far more appropriate to deal with the eventuality of a lightning strike.
