Hi Frank,
I agree 100% that if a properly though out and designed power supply is used in the first place, bypass caps are not needed. Sometimes they can change things in a direction that is opposite of expectations.
A question for you...... what, in your opinion, are some of the better lytic capacitors for higher values say above 450uF and voltage ratings above 450v?
