With all the talk on this forum about Mains Power conditioning/filtering/power cords etc., one would think that the power companies supply such garbage that a simple table radio would self-destruct.
I have been looking at a fairly clean looking sine wave on my o-scope for a few days.
I adjusted the volt/div so I was just looking at a small portion of the wave. Using the position controls I was able to move around until I found little ripples along the main wave. These were tiny in relation to the main wave. What is interesting when I placed one of JR's mains filter (from DYICable) in the circuit these little ripples just disappeared.
I haven’t done a listening test yet because I am still working up a design for a power distribution chassis that will incorporate a couple of JR mains filters and digital mains filters for my cdp and dac. I am using the mains filter from DYICable and I home brewed the mains didgital filter for the cdp/dac from threads from this forum
